They say dogs have a five minute attention span.
In only slight contrast, humans have a five hour attention span (aka the news cycle).
This latest white-on-black evil instigator news cycle will pass.
People will soon forget that white cop Derek Chauvin murdered black suspect George Floyd with his knee and the weight of his body on Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes on tape while a handcuffed and prone Floyd offered no resistance and desperately pled for his life.
Chauvin rested his hand in his pants pocket, all la dee dah, staring down the brave young female videographer for a full eight minutes and 46 seconds.
Chauvin's fellow Minneapolis police officers Thomas Lane, Tou Thao, and J. Alexander Kueng were all busy looking the other way or pinning Floyd's torso and body against the pavement while Chauvin ground his knee into Floyd's neck.
Finally one of the cops took Floyd's pulse and found none.
Nearly three more minutes passed.
Chauvin was unrelenting.
News cycles.
Next week, racism in America will continue to be a rife hell but once again ignored because Donald Trump will come up with yet another distraction.
Like withdrawing from World Health Organization (WHO) during a pandemic.
And network news will careen off course to cover our Charlatan-in-Chief's next diversionary tactic.
And what Chauvin and his accomplices did to Floyd (and nearly got away with) will be forgotten until another black man or woman dies at the hands of rogue police.
