Roomy Nation!

October 24, 2019

The symptoms of Donald Trump's mental illness have never been more embarrassingly evident.

Trump thinks the U.S. Constitution--which he solemnly swore January 20, 2017 to uphold--is "phony," at least in part.

“You people with this phony Emoluments Clause,” he said last Monday. Context for Trump's verbal attack on the U.S. Constitution was his decision to award himself a personal revenue-producing 2020 G7 summit venue at his own personal declining golf resort business in Doral, Florida.

The Foreign Emoluments clause could not be any clearer a prohibition: It broadly prohibits the President from accepting "any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever" from "any...foreign State" without the consent of Congress.

Most presidents divest themselves of their private interests to blind trusts when they undertake the presidency.

To avoid conflicts of interests.

To avoid Emoluments clause violations.

Not Trump.

He is a "stable genius."

Trump has been in continuous violation of the Foreign Emoluments clause of the U.S

Constitution since his inauguration at which he cynically swore to uphold that very same Constitution. That is because Trump benefits financially when foreign visitors stay at his namesake hotels, which he still owns even though his sons now supposedly run The Trump Organization.

Now, suddenly, the Constitution's Foreign Emoluments prohibition is "phony."

He is better than, higher than, above all, including the law.

If something gets in the way of Trump's presidency, it is phony, not his presidency.

This is what malignant narcissism looks like, America.
